Campbell Clinic Builds Resilient, Storage-Rich Virtualized Infrastructure

Campbell Clinic needs to run complex clinical applications and render ever increasing stores of X-ray data instantly available to physicians at three treatment centers. The clinic deploys VMware technology with robust availability features and thin provisioning for improved storage utilization: three ESX hosts/51 virtual machines in main datacenter; one ESX host/two virtual machines in colocation site; one local ESX host/five virtual machines at each of three clinic sites. This resulted in the client to avoid more than $30,000 in storage costs over two years, to reduce hardware, reducing power and cooling costs by more than $10,000 and also to increase flexibility to test new applications.
