Up until 2005, Chia Tai Group was using in-house developed systems to manage six subsidiaries. As its business grew in scale and complexity, the company found that the systems did not provide the integrated view of operations that senior management needed for efficient operations and effective decision-making. To improve oversight and ensure managers had quick access to consolidated reports, Chia Tai Group replaced the in-house systems with an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system based on Oracle E-Business Suite. The system, implemented by Oracle Consulting and a number of Oracle partners in a staged rollout, included modules to help the company manage financials, inventory, procurement, customer orders, and process manufacturing.
