City of Durres wanted to gain real time visibility of city council's finances, purchasing commitments, municipality-owned assets and inventory and improve tax collection rates from businesses and individuals. The challenge was to streamline archiving and retrieval of public documents, such as birth certificates, planning applications, and car registrations and deliver higher quality citizen services faster and at lower cost. City of Durres replaced spreadsheet-based financial management tools with Oracle Financials to gain a consolidated view of income and costs, plus automated, workflow-routed, paper-free processes.
