The Cleveland Indians is one of four charter American League Baseball teams to have played their entire history in the same hometown. The team's vast media database contains videos of every pitch by every pitcher and every hit by every player in every single major league baseball game for the past five years. That's a lot of video data - currently 18TB, and growing at 2TB a year. As the team's data volume and availability requirements increased, its EMC CLARiiON CX400 SAN became increasingly difficult to manage and scale. The team wanted to implement a storage solution that can handle the team's digital media. The team implemented NetApp FAS3050 storage system with NetApp SnapMirror replicating data to a NetApp FAS2050.
