As a department within the University of Edinburgh, the Communication Aids for Language and Learning Centre (CALL) provides specialist expertise in technology for children who have speech, communication, and/or writing difficulties. The University wanted to increase in the number of requests for examination assessment arrangements, grow demand for scribes and readers during examinations and needed a cost effective solution with quick implementation time. CALL and SQA deployed Adobe Acrobat Professional and Adobe Reader to create and deliver digital examination papers for candidates with special educational and communication needs.
