Not one to sit on its laurels, British firm CSR has continued to push the envelope in its single-chip (integrated circuit) products, which now appear in much of the world's mobile and wireless devices, from cell phones to laptops and even automotive and mobile GPS systems. CSR's growing Linux server-based grid compute farm stays busy processing often lengthy, automated jobs that help perform the engineering team's extensive design tests and simulation. After undergoing an extensive nine-month evaluation process between NetApp, EMC, and other vendors, CSR decided to upgrade and expand its current NetApp system to a set of clustered NetApp Data ONTAP GX storage systems.
