Desktop Virtualization With VMware View Eases Deployment Of New Software At Roman Catholic Diocese Of Lafayette

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Lafayette wanted to cost-efficiently standardize on a single software management platform for 500 end users in 157 parishes and missions throughout Louisiana. Aided by CMA Technology Solutions, the Diocese extended its success as an early adopter of datacenter virtualization to its desktop infrastructure with VMware View. The results of deploying VMware were labor-cost avoidance of $216,000 a year, power-cost savings of $12,000 a year, hardware and maintenance cost avoidance, core application's growing need for server resources easily met with virtual machines and new applications and upgrades deployed electronically within hours, to geographically dispersed end users.
