Michael Khalili wanted to provide an alternative e-commerce site for iPhone applications with the depth of the official online store but a fast, familiar Web browser interface. Khalili created an automated program to rapidly download and process data from the iPhone App Store, which then can be searched and downloaded from an independent Web site built on the Microsoft stack. The site, www.yappler.com, updates its content daily and has a search engine that can find an application in less than a second. It also offers a downloadable client through which users can easily share their iPhone application list through social networks.
