Diebold wanted to improve support for the company's Linux environment on which it runs mission-critical systems, including its data warehouse based on Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition and Oracle E-Business Suite applications and find ways to continually improve operational efficiency without compromising service - including looking at ways to reduce IT support costs. The challenge was to streamline systems complexity and vendor management whenever possible across the global organization that encompasses five operating divisions. Diebold implemented Oracle Unbreakable Linux support on all Dell servers used for the company's Oracle business intelligence data warehouse environment and all HP servers used for Oracle Real Application Clusters and E-Business Suite environments and improved satisfaction with service-ticket resolution compared to previous support providers - Dell and Red Hat.
