Duke Energy Brasil wanted to meet Sarbanes-Oxley and the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) requirements and minimize errors in processing financial data and billing, since energy bill errors delay payment collection. The challenge was to decrease time for issuing required financial reports to headquarters and improve internal processes to accelerate sales cycles and payments. Duke Energy Brasil worked with Oracle Partner Quanam Brasil to deploy Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise Financial Management applications for improved data exchange and automated processes to gain competitive advantages in the energy market, meet safety norms, fulfill Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and comply with consumer and contract regulations.
