Earth Rangers is a non-profit organization which works towards inspiring children to exert a positive impact on their environment. This case study discusses the data storage concerns of Earth Rangers for their interactive website and the intervention of Pillar Axiom to solve the problem. When Earth rangers began developing its interactive website, it was realized that data storage would be an issue. Addition of NAS devices to the server would use greater amounts of energy. Hence, the organization started looking for a technology that would provide a system with minimum power consumption while giving optimum performance, scalability and expandability. The paper describes how Earth Rangers was attracted to Pillar Axiom because of the latter's storage efficiency benchmark known as the Efficiency Quotient (EQ). Pillar's technology enabled Earth Rangers to achieve 80% greater utilization without any additional energy and expenditure. The paper converges to the conclusion that Earth Rangers will now be able to integrate multiple tiers of data and applications onto a common storage platform while maintaining the highest utilization rates in the industry. Pillar's vow of sustainability and Axiom's efficiency helped facilitate Earth Rangers' decision. Future capacity of Earth Rangers demands, ranging in several petabytes, shall also be met with upgrades of the present system.
