Eastern Washington University Creates Virtual Labs Using VMware View To Give Students Remote Access To Software

With many of its nearly 11,000 students commuting from nearby Spokane or attending branch campuses statewide, Eastern Washington University (EWU) faced the challenge of how to make course-related software available to students anytime, anywhere. SO they wanted give students, faculty and staff "Anytime, anywhere" access to course-related software. They choose VMware to overcome these challenges. They implemented VMware View to create Virtual Labs enabling end users to access applications either through campus computer labs or remotely using their own PCs. The results of deploying VMware were students gained access to course-related software from either their own PCs or from campus computers and IT staff can deploy new applications or updates quickly and easily.
