Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) wanted to facilitate modernization by enabling business innovations such as wireless meter reading and online processing and increase efficiency of business processes by networking its 26 different business units, on a limited budget. The challenge was to reduce training costs for new employees, by implementing standardized and user-friendly processes and technology. EPCG enabled online access to data from electricity meters in the field, accelerated the processing of customer bills, and implemented an e-billing system using Oracle E-Business Suite applications and reduced time needed to process and send bills from more than a week to just one business day after meter reading.
