The West African country of Nigeria is well known for its large - and growing - population, much of which consists of school-aged children. The Federal Ministry of Education is committed to improving access to technology in its schools. As part of an ongoing partnership with Microsoft Partners in Learning, the ministry deployed the Student Helpdesk program, an innovative method of teaching students PC maintenance. Students not only help resolve their schools' IT issues, but pass this knowledge on to other students and their teachers. In addition, they get valuable skills that they can use to benefit themselves, their families, and their communities.
