Deloitte assisted a major aerospace manufacturer to achieve its goal of improving On Time Delivery (OTD), bringing in efficiency in the functioning of its supplier network, and lastly, of putting in place a well-thought aftermarket plan so as to keep growing. The senior management team at this aerospace manufacturer sought help from Deloitte for performing a diagnostic assessment of its operations with the intention if drastically improving its supply chain operations. The objectives of the client were very clear. It was looking to raise the service levels of its aftermarket operations, reduce transportation costs by 30 to 40 percent, improve supplier On Time Delivery (OTD), and develop an implementation plan to achieve the objectives. A successful diagnostic allowed the Deloitte team to exactly pinpoint the areas which were crucial to achieving the set goals. Further, they came up with three innovative programs to help transform the client's supply chain. These were Supplier OTD, Logistics Network Transformation, and Aftermarket Service Level Improvement and Inventory Reduction Project. Deloitte continues to work with this major aerospace manufacturer, which is also a global leader in making aircraft engines. Efforts are on for further streamlining the supply chain operations of the client so as to allow the client company to function efficiently and maintain its tradition of high customer satisfaction.
