Food Project needed to standardize their IT infrastructure to improve efficiency by integrating disparate servers and applications, with the goal of reducing unnecessary complexity in their business operations. The company needed the new infrastructure to have the capability to support a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution that would improve supply chain management and purchasing and inventory control. Food Project replaced their legacy HP servers with an IBM BladeCenter E chassis containing 13 IBM BladeCenter HS21 servers, and an IBM System x3850 M2 server. To create a robust storage infrastructure, the company also implemented IBM System Storage DS4700 Express and DS4200 Express enterprise storage systems, along with IBM System Storage TS3100 Tape Library Express devices.
