Foothills School Division serves the learning needs of almost 7,000 students on the southern border of Calgary. They need to replace a siloed EMC storage environment with a unified storage infrastructure that enables centralized backup for all district locations and implement a storage solution better suited to leverage a VMware environment and deliver higher performance, less complexity, and more cost-effective scalability than the installed EMC solution. They chose to work with Zentra to establish a flexible and efficient shared storage infrastructure on NetApp for simplified management, centralized backup and cost-effective scalability. Implement VMware over NFS to reduce complexity and eliminate LUN management challenges. This resulted in improved backup compliance and manageability by centralizing backup for 21 locations and enabled expansion of backup to include academic data.
