Genworth Financial wanted to strengthen already high customer service levels, which are required in the highly competitive financial services market and maintain competitive edge with a self-service Web site that provides customers with clear, intuitive interfaces and well-organized content. The challenge was to provide access to real-time application status and allow customers to serve themselves quickly as well as replace an inflexible system, not providing customer value. Genworth Financial implemented a flexible, standards-based architecture, based on Oracle WebLogic Portal and Oracle WebLogic Integration Server to replace an inflexible custom application used by the Canadian branch.
