Yildiz Holding is a Istanbul, Turkey based company that was born with the motive of quickly growing into a global presence from the regional company that it started with. It was not late when Yildiz Holding was able to fulfill its dream into reality. Yildiz Holding has always tried to maximize the business value of their desktop and laptop computers to match the growing needs of the business, which is why it updated all its system with Windows XP operating system in 2004. Again in 2009 the company decided to upgrade its systems with newer operating systems, but at the same time was concerned about the compatibility issues that they might have to face with their existing hardware. This case study discusses the series of tests conducted by Yildiz Holding to ensure that Windows 7 operating system would benefit them with performance and system management advantages. After testing the Beta versions of the Windows 7 operating system, Yildiz Holding was satisfied with the results that they got. The fact that the new operating system would run on the existing hardware and improve the life cycle of the computers was totally appreciated. The new software also exceeded the company's expectation for performance, security, system management and ease of deployment. Keeping all these factors in mind Yildiz Holding decided to not only upgrade its systems with Windows 7 but also chose to upgrade to Windows Server 2008 R2 to get the maximum advantage of Windows 7.
