Free registration required

Executive Summary

The impressive Johannes Kepler University of Linz is a descendent of the University of the Province of Upper Austria, which dates back to 1492. Supercomputing, in particular, has a continual thirst for storage capacity and together with the short lifecycle of servers and continual development of new applications the university's IT environment is in a state of constant change. As a result, it became an urgent necessity for Johannes Kepler University to consolidate their storage into a centralised, open and scalable infrastructure. To master these challenges Johannes Kepler University chose Hitachi Data Systems. Johannes Kepler University deployed SANs, Lightning 9970V InRange and z/OS, IRIX, AIX, Solaris, Linux, Windows and Novell.
