Executive Summary

As the world's largest art and design museum, the Victoria and Albert (V&A) takes its responsibility to share its collection with the public very seriously. It developed a Digital Asset Management system to build a digital image archive of all collection pieces and needed a robust, scalable and easy-to manage storage platform to support it. The Hitachi Data Systems solution will enable scalability for up to seven years and fits perfectly with its business continuity and disaster recovery strategy. The V&A chose to deploy two Hitachi Adaptable Modular Storage 1000 systems, each equipped with 60TB of capacity. The deployed solution provides the V&A with the scalability to cope easily with data growth.
