Hormel Foods Corporation wanted to meet the chief executive officer's requirement to increase sales at a faster rate than promotion spend and analyze the effectiveness of trade promotion dollars - and their impact on sales - to drive better decisions. The challenge was to replace an inefficient, fragmented collection of separate, homegrown, and legacy systems to support sales and enable line-of-business employees to create and run their own reports, removing reliance and burden on IT team. Hormel Foods implemented Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition to provide more than 500 users with complete, real-time information on sales and trade promotion as well as enabled the company to plan and execute effective trade promotions.
