Cisco System Media Network team produces and distributes live streaming events and Video On Demand (VoD) content for both internal and external audiences. As the Cisco Media Network producer works with the sponsoring Cisco sponsoring unit to plan and produce the project it becomes essential for him to be present at the location. If in case, the production is taking place at a remote location or if the producer is at a remote place, even then it is a necessity for the producer to see and hear, in real time, the video and audio captured during the production. To overcome this problem Cisco Media Network team needed a more flexible and cost-effective method for a remote producer to communicate with its studio team. This case study reveals the innovative use of the Cisco Unified Video Advantage product that gave Cisco many flexible options for video production. The producers at the remote location could now make use of Cisco unified IP phone, a personal computer, and a Cisco VT camera that allowed them to place video telephony calls to other Cisco Unified Video advantage users and to Cisco IP/VC endpoints. This solution proved to be extremely advantageous at Cisco as video events and content have an increasingly important role for delivering timely and flexible communications that help employees work effectively. This system is now used by other enterprises that have similar needs.
