The IBM Systems and Technology Group Worldwide Benchmark Center offers a single self-serve Web portal to help on-demand users request and schedule computing resources. The IBM Systems and Technology Group sales team was looking for ways to make the sales cycle more time- and cost-efficient. Manual processing of benchmark requests, IT resource allocation, scheduling and provisioning of computing resources was time-consuming and tedious. By implementing a cloud computing environment, the Benchmark Center was able to dramatically reduce the time required for the benchmark process. This dynamic infrastructure enabled the worldwide support team to utilize the resources they need, including multiple configurations, storage, and the latest software stacks, with no wait time.
