IBM Case Study: Sterling Commerce

Sterling Commerce is a software company that helps enterprises connect, communicate and collaborate with their customers, partners and suppliers by providing solutions that enable seamless integration of key business processes, and with applications that enhance the way companies do business. The initial discussions between IBM and Sterling Commerce began in spring 2008 looking at the opportunity to reduce ISV software costs. The first step included a product mapping and more detailed discussions and then product presentations and demonstrations in the June 2008 timeframe. This lead to migration estimates and an IBM proposal to Sterling Commerce to address the cost reduction requirement.
