Grupo Modelo, one of Mexico's largest beer companies, had established a goal to have export sales surpass national sales. To meet its goal of having export sales exceed domestic sales in Mexico, the Group needed to significantly improve and add an element of intelligence to its export supply chain processes. They worked with IBM to implement the DOW (Direct Order Web) system to help improve its export business. DOW provides a centralized entry point and interface with Grupo Modelo's international clients. DOW is the entry point for demand, and feeds the company's internal supply chain and ERP systems in order to create an edge ecosystem which allows Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) optimization, reducing rework and maintaining the appropriated inventory levels.
