Executive Summary

Indirect Taxation Authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina wanted to consolidate uncoordinated data on Value-Added Tax (VAT) revenues from four regional centers and 30 customs offices in Bosnia and Herzegovina to establish a unified financial system and accelerate bookkeeping processes, including revenue registration, entry, and reporting to improve productivity. The challenge was to eliminate errors resulting from manual data entry by introducing an automated bookkeeping process. Indirect Taxation Authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina established a unified financial system based on Oracle General Ledger to monitor and process collected revenues and VAT refunds to be distributed and shortened the bookkeeping process of registering and entering revenue from one week to an immediate, real-time process.
