The customer is a US-based retailer into multiple businesses including a high-end branded jewelry store chain and an eCommerce-based pleasantries business that owns a few popular web properties. The customer wanted to utilize an integrated domain-specific eCommerce platform as a strategic flank to enter new market segments in the pleasantries business. The initiative was based on concerns of market saturation in the US. Mahindra Satyam contributed to the business vision of the customer's initiative and towards establishing certain IT best practices. Currently, Mahindra Satyam is participating in the business analysis and technology proof-of-concepts for this initiative. The initiative involves a sophisticated technical architecture involving SAP Portal, OfBiz and Business Objects.
