Meteor Communications has seen tremendous growth as they have acquired over 19% of the market share within few years of their launch. The aim of the case study is to find out if Meteor, the third largest telecom provider in Ireland, was able to improve its market image and performance to emerge ahead of its competition. The competition in the market and the pressure of being a reputed company had forced Meteor to rebuild its data center to keep up with the times and needs. Data application and management had to be improvised and Meteor took Cisco's help in this regard. The paper details all network solutions offered by Cisco that came handy for Meteor. Development of a high performance environment was the target of Cisco Data Center 3.0. Cisco's Storage Area Networking (SAN) was used by Meteor to reduce the physical space required. Cisco's Application Control Engine (ACE) was employed to improve the performance of its various processes. Nixus, the most dynamic networking centre of data from Cisco, was also put into action by Meteor. All the solutions offered by the Data Center of Cisco were vital to Meteor in enhancement of their performance levels. The new 3G packaging was another idea launched to promote Meteor's services. 3G voice and video calls and 3G data services were also used.
