A large apartment complex located in a popular East Coast beach community needed to implement a comprehensive video surveillance system to provide a greater level of security - and ultimately peace of mind - for its residents. The primary challenge was designing a wireless system that could accommodate the tremendous bandwidth requirements of 23 separate megapixel cameras while performing in an environment marked by dense trees and significant line-of-sight issues. KBC's mesh system leveraged numerous line-of-sight paths to relay wireless signals from the network of cameras by effectively re-using available frequencies. 5.8GHz patch antennas made it possible to precisely directionalize signals along the available paths.
