Kimimpex found that its existing retail processes and IT infrastructure could not provide effective support for the expansion of the business. In particular, communication between Point of Sale (POS) and back-end systems took several hours each day, causing delays in decision-making. IBM Global Business Services helped Kimimpex implement a new ERP system based on an SAP Business All-in-One solution, and integrate it with POS systems at the stores. The SAP applications run on IBM Power Systems servers, with a SAN based on IBM storage. The project was completed within a five-month deadline - ensuring that the solution was live and the staff were trained before the busy December sales period.
