KME Group wanted to avoid reliance on a single Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in view of the importance and particular nature of metal management and the diversity of product mixes and plant sizes and provide a strong interface between the proprietary system and the company's SAP application (used in standard administrative procedures). The challenge was to orchestrate complex updates in heterogeneous systems and recover and capitalize on the company's business logic, the fruit of many years' experience. KME Group worked with Oracle Consulting to link different proprietary systems through Oracle BPEL Process Manager orchestration and mapping solution and assisted personnel with use of centrally defined organizational procedures.
