India Infoline offers advice and execution platform for financial services covering products ranging from equities and derivatives, commodities, wealth management, asset management, insurance, fixed deposits, loans, investment banking, gold bonds and other small savings instruments. The company needed a technology platform for more agility in the face of competition, now and in future. It wanted a development system and programming model that would allow the company to connect with existing systems, use available development skills, and be more resilient to change. Beyond the challenges of integration, the existing environment wasn't user-friendly, which led to slow development times and decreased performance. Keeping this in mind, India Infoline decided to go with Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 and Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 development system. It provides the company the basis for Web service-based connectivity to Windows-based applications, and helps developers integrate disparate systems. This resulted in increased performance, more open development environment, and reduced coding requirements. The use of .NET Framework 2.0 has resulted in improved developer productivity, fast time-to-market, and reduced development costs. The Windows-based platform integrates seamlessly with the existing Windows-based software now. It helps to cut any additional upgrade costs. Another benefit of implementing this platform was the increase in performance. They are able to handle over 1.2 million trade transactions and another 300,000 or more secondary transactions daily.
