Wakefield Council delivers public services to 318,000 people who live in a mixture of rural and urban areas in West Yorkshire in the United Kingdom. Wakefield Council needed a cost-effective package of technologies to deploy and monitor its new infrastructure. Microsoft Services recommended a licensing Server Management Suite Enterprise (SMSE) solution for the servers and personal computers. Already, the council has achieved savings of 25 per cent against the cost of buying four products separately - it has also increased controls over the system and avoided the need to employ extra technicians.
