Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) wanted to improve insight into project and portfolio performance to support the district's new school construction - which includes 131 new school projects, 64 school additions, and over167,000 new classroom seats and streamline baseline management for over 400 projects that contain more than 400,000 activities to improve efficiency and eliminate data errors and inconsistencies. The challenge was to enable continuous access to real-time schedule information by eliminating lock-outs during schedule validation. LAUSD worked with Oracle Partner Partners Consulting to create a Web application based on Oracle's Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management to provide LAUSD with improved construction scheduling - saving the district US$60,000 annually in baseline management alone.
