Marvin Windows and Doors Case Study: Montgomery County Courthouse Hillsboro, Illinois, USA

The new structure at Montgomery County courthouse needed to blend with the historical surroundings. The county single-sourced Marvin because of their ability to provide custom clad wood windows in numerous unique sizes that fit the historical criteria of the project, yet still remained operable. Marvin equipped each of the two large, unusual structural front walls with 21 clad windows. Each window was glazed with spandrel glass to hide the interior stairway and structure. Of particular significance is the large circular window with the county seal in it. Marvin's architects modified this window's design so that the stained-glass county seal could be applied flawlessly on the inside of the window.
