Significant business growth required the major banking institution to modernize its IT development environment to support more flexible and demanding business needs. With four main software providers, the bank had thousands of unique software assets to track and manage. Thus, the bank needed to improve its ability to communicate and track development for its banking processes. The major banking institution engaged an IBM Business Partner to implement a suite of IBM Rational software products, including IBM Rational Asset Manager software for asset reuse and services, as well as IT component reutilization; IBM Rational Functional Tester software to automate regression testing processes; and IBM Rational Team Concert Standard software to provide demand and project management for the bank's 1,000 development subcontractors in its software development area.
