EF Education First was founded in Sweden in 1965 by Bertil Hult based on the simple concept of taking local high school students to England to learn English. The challenge was to accommodate rapid data growth; streamline storage management, backup, and recovery; increase performance and uptime. The company replaced a SAN storage infrastructure with NetApp storage systems for business-critical database and Microsoft Exchange; use NetApp Snapshot and SnapManager for Exchange technologies to back up and restore critical data; use NFS and deduplication for VMware infrastructure.
