Royal College of Physicians (RCP) wanted to move to a system that could support flexible ways of working. As a professional body responsible for a whole range of activities in the medical field - from training and development, to holding clinical audits and publishing books, newsletters and guidelines - RCP holds in-depth meetings between staff and partners, which need to be face-to-face. The collage needed technologies such as video conferencing and Unified Communications to help the staff work more effectively. Nortel's Professional Services team designed a future-proof telephony solution for the RCP. At the centre of this was the Nortel Communication Server 1000, Nortel's market leading PBX.
