Riga Stradins University (RSU), in Riga, Latvia, trains doctors, pharmacists, and nurses, and specialists in rehabilitation, public healthcare, social sciences, and law. It wanted to simplify work for its IT staff, which dealt with typical university security threats, such as visiting professors plugging USB drives into the network and exposing the school to an array of risks. RSU joined an early adopter program for Microsoft Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010. With this software, organizations can use Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2 client management software to deploy and maintain endpoint protection. By using Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010, RSU gains: lowered costs and enhanced security.
