Save the Children USA is an independent organization working for change for children in the USA. The organization used LANSA to offer integration and extensions to its Synon-based core donor systems. They also wanted to rebuild its Sponsorship website, which today includes content management by users, donor self-service, and a PDF welcome kit generation. In 2007, Save the Children spent 90 % of its expenditures on program services and the organization is being recognized for its financial and organizational accountability. The organization wanted to provide easy access to available sponsorship programs on the website. This also helped increase enhance its marketing and selling reach to prospective donors. The website was also created to offer easy integration with information from third party fund raisers and events. The sponsorship website was created using LANSA's Web Application Modules (WAMs) so that web content, text and images are stored in files that are maintained by end users themselves. This is done with the use of a content management system that was also created on the LANSA XML- and XSL-based technology. With the use of LANSA platform, prospective child sponsors are able to surf and find children who are in the need of a sponsor. They can find more information on the child such as the country they are from and their age. With the advanced search function, donors can choose particular fields to find a child they would want to sponsor. LANSA also enables Save the Children to authorize credit card payments securely.
