Executive Summary

Established in 1986, Raindrop Information Systems is a global leader in property management systems. This provider of property management software needed to create a "Rich web" interface before the technology was readily available. Raindrop boldly decided to skip a generation and go straight to what now know as "Rich web" or second-generation web technology. Required features included online field and cross-field validation, dynamic drag-and-drop and interactive dashboards. Although the client/server version of Manhattan was written in Uniface from day one, Raindrop could have chosen a different environment for web development. Uniface's support for Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) was vital since it made it easy to move all significant processing to the server side.
