Executive Summary

SPH Search is collaboration between two media powerhouses - Singapore Press Holdings Group (SPH) and Schibsted Group. SPH Search wanted to quickly occupy and dominate the empty space between the general search engines of the world and the niche-oriented online directories. SPH Search was faced with a very short timeline to launch the business and get the search engine and directory business up and running. For this they chose Red Hat. SPH Search deployed several Red Hat products, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, both 32-bit and 64-bit, Red Hat Cluster Suite and Red Hat Global File System (GFS) for shared file storage, and Red Hat Network (RHN) Satellite for systems management.
