Executive Summary

The State of Michigan has decreased traffic accident fatalities across the state through implementation of its CRASH Process Redesign (CPR). The State of Michigan wanted to improve safety on Michigan's roads, provide faster access to information about high-incident areas and accelerate corrective action. The State of Michigan consolidated the separate systems run by the Department of State, Department of Transportation and State Police, while allowing the Department of Information Technology to create and manage the appropriate infrastructure.
