Executive Summary

The State of Michigan created the Michigan Department of Information Technology (DIT) to streamline and centralize IT throughout its executive branch. The state envisioned a world-class IT organization with standardized processes and tools capable of enhancing statewide collaboration, integrated enterprise planning and service to constituents and customers. Unifying processes, communications and the state's complex organizational structure required a complete IT overhaul. So DIT and HP embarked on a massive organizational change project, the Service Delivery Improvement Initiative (SDII).
