Telecommunications Case Study: Telmex

Free registration required

Executive Summary

Telmex is the leading telecommunications company in Mexico and the largest private company in Latin America. The Telmex security group was concerned that tokens were being shared and therefore failed to meet their absolute identity requirement. The costs associated with managing and replacing lost tokens was a burden on the IT Department. Telmex was determined to find a complimentary, but stronger method to secure access, improve audit trails and reduce IT costs. Telmex evaluated and selected DigitalPersona Pro, a fingerprint authentication solution to replace tokens. Telmex chose a fingerprint authentication solution because fingerprints cannot be shared, lost or stolen. DigitalPersona Pro has enabled Telmex to secure access to their servers, as well as notebooks used outside of the Telmex network.
