Treasury Department wanted to replace obsolete systems with a scalable platform to improve and automate the extraction and administration of data related to handling public funds and creates a robust database to provide rapid access to taxpayer information and facilitate timely decision making. The challenge was to improve communication and information visibility among the treasury, banks, and other institutions to accelerate transactions and online tax payments and create a self-service customer Web site to facilitate transactions, inquiries, and payment of various taxes by businesses and citizens. Treasury Department implemented a scalable, high availability IT platform improving access to data related to Chile's administration of taxes and finances and migrated to Oracle Database Enterprise Edition, providing visibility and easy access to taxpayer data.
