Other requisites included capturing accurate, real-time data and eliminating manual paper-based processes to improve customer service while reducing supply chain costs and deliver information. The solution was found with the implementation of Oracle Transportation Management which supported niche industry requirements and new service offerings. It streamlined operational processes with improved collaboration, reducing manual and double data entry. Improved in-transit shipment and inventory visibility and accuracy, resulting in better decision-making and reduced costs were also some key benefits. Moreover, it reduced customer freight costs through improved asset utilization and carrier selection and improved key performance indicators reporting from a single integrated data model. Overall, there was a reduction in the need for point solutions and technology diversification within the organization.
