Unipol Banca wanted to promote territory penetration through improved understanding of the company's customer base and support rapid growth with careful monitoring of profitability. The challenge was to enable the company to complete its income statement within the last 10 days of the following month and allow analysis of the income statement by product, channel, commercial area and branch, clientele segment, and insurance agency. Unipol Banca implemented Oracle's Hyperion Essbase to provide an enterprisewide sharing tool, making company data available to management control, marketing networks, product factories, and area marketing coordinators as well as allowed the company to systematically analyze network performance and the evolution of economic aggregates in branches.
