This case study reveals how Athens University of Economics and Business used Microsoft Dynamics NAV to improve its graduates' employment prospects by offering them IT proficiency needed to find jobs after graduation. Athens University of Economics and Business is the oldest business and economics school in Greece founded in 1920. The university wanted to equip its students with the business software skills expected by local industry as employers expected the graduates to proficient in the software used to run organizations. This was not an easy task as few technical training resources were published in Greek. The Department of Management Science and Technology at Athens University of Economics and Business addressed this issue by deploying a number of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. This, though, need not serve the purpose completely as these applications were not only unwieldy but also did not adapt well to an educational setting. In 2004, the university was offered a chance to be a part of Microsoft Dynamics Academic Alliance program. This proved to be a turning point as now, the students had access to the latest Microsoft Dynamics business management software, and advice and training from Microsoft. This gave students hands-on learning in the latest business management software, which helped to enhance their job prospects.
